
Capturing the Creek
TWO SATURDAY SESSIONS 25th APRIL, 2nd MAY 2pm to 5pm £80 Capturing the Creek Develop your drawing and painting skills in this two part course, incorporating one indoor session focusing on techniques, and a second spent putting theory into practice outside, on the banks of Faversham Creek. In the first session you will focus on expressive drawing and evocative watercolour techniques, refreshing your knowledge for those with experience, or building a strong foundation for beginners. The second session will take place outdoors with a visit to Iron Wharf Boatyard and Faversham Creek. Working en plein air, you will be guided in observing, capturing, and recording the distinctive character and atmosphere of this evocative waterside environment. You will benefit from personalised guidance and support from practicising artist and experienced tutor, Ilse, throughout. Suitable for: Ideal for beginners and for those looking to build on or refine their existing skills. There will be some walking involved in the second session, on a variety of terrains. Sturdy footwear is recommended. What you will need for this course: • Sketching Pencils (1 x 2B pencil is sufficient) • Waterproof fine line black permanent ink pen (size 0.5) • Watercolour round brush size 8 or 9 • A4 cold press watercolour pad (12 sheets is sufficient) • Small Watercolour Paint set (tutor recommends Cotman/Windsor & Newton) NOTE: You can bring your own materials, or purchase them at checkout. This helps us keep the course cost down for those who already have their own. This course will run over Saturday afternoons, from 2pm tp 5pm. Dates: 25th April, 2nd May. She holds a degree from Chelsea College of Art and PGCE from Goldsmiths University. Alongside her own artistic practice, she has extensive experience teaching drawing and painting. Ilse’s work is inspired by capturing the light and atmosphere of a place, often working plein air across a range of media. Tea and coffee will be provided. There is a corner shop a short walk away, and parking at the weekend is easily available just outside. We're on the first floor, unfortunately we have no lift.

Cancellation Policy
Bookings are non-refundable, but if you do find are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Up to 10 days before the event, you may reschedule your booking, subject to availability. After this time, no refund or cancellation is possible, but you are welcome to pass your booking on to a friend - just let us know. If you do reschedule your booking, this can only be done once in any six month period; subsequent rebookings will need to be paid for again. Please note, some workshops may not be repeated. No refunds or transfers will be given for no-shows.
