Creating art from intuition

Creating art from intuition - TAKING BOOKINGS SOON SATURDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 10am to 4pm Beliefs about ourselves can often get in the way of, or impose limits on, our creativity. They can stop us making art in our adult years, and for practicing artists they can create an artist block or hinder us from the enjoyment of being creative. Intuitive art, also known as process art, is a form of creative expression where artists trust their intuition and feelings to guide the creative process, rather than relying on preconceived ideas or techniques. It's about embracing the journey of creation and letting the artwork evolve organically. It removes preconceived ideas of ‘good art’ or ‘bad art’, and the expectations which can make us procrastinate from the trappings of perfectionism. Intuitive art gives you the permission and space to be creative. What can you expect? Through a series of exercises and intuitive art practices this one-day workshop aims to override and release any artistic resistance, unhelpful patterns or old, limiting creative beliefs that no longer serve you. The day provides you with the opportunity to make and create from a place that is deep within you, but can get lost in the day-to-day noise of life. Blending both therapeutic techniques such as guided meditation and mindfulness practices with creative exploration and play through mark making, collaging and painting - the day will encourage new ways of approaching your creativity through a series of supported exercises. What to bring All materials will be provided. Bring a bag or folder to take your work home in. You may want to bring a packed lunch, and an apron. What you’ll take away You will take away a number of pieces of work but more importantly take with you a toolbox of new practices and exercises to enhance your creativity and tap into your intuition. Suitable for: Adults of all skill levels: Experienced artists who want to reinvigorate their practice, ‘untrained’ artists who might need a starting point to get creative. Your tutor Michelle is a primarily a narrative painter whose work is a rich, colourful exploration of the ideas of self, life rituals, and the experiences that shape us all. She is also a trained wellness practitioner and qualified meditation guide, hypnotherapist, sound therapist and shamanic practitioner. Tea and coffee is provided. There is a shop a short walk away, and weekend parking easily available just outside. We're on the first floor.
