Experimental Mark-making


SATURDAY 15th NOVEMBER 10am - 12.30pm Would you like to take part in an playful morning of mark-making? Join tutor, painter & printmaker Erin Byrne on this 2.5 hour workshop to introduce mark-making techniques to refresh your art practice, help you find your unique mark-making ‘voice’ and connect with other creatives. What you can expect? Come and get inky in this experimental session aimed at opening up your creativity and reducing stress whilst encouraging you to play, and connect with your artistic instincts. We will be working collaboratively and as individuals to explore mark-making and action painting techniques with many unconventional tools and materials at different scales. What you'll take away: You will come away with your own mark-making compositions, collage papers and new skills ready to use at home. Most importantly you’ll have had an enjoyable, relaxing morning freeing up your creativity, with techniques to take away to continue exploring. What to bring: • Please also bring an apron or wear old clothes. • All other materials included. Suitable for: All skill levels welcome. Your tutor: Erin Byrne is a painter/ printmaker based in Kent who is deeply inspired by the coastal and estuarine landscapes. Erin previously worked as a architect but now works in the Visual Arts department at Canterbury College, runs freelance art workshops in London and Kent focussing on experimental printmaking, collage and painting alongside her practice as a fine artist. You can read more about Erin on our Tutors page. Tea and coffee is provided, and you are welcome to use our small kitchen. There is a corner shop a short walk away, and parking at the weekend is easily available just outside. We're on the first floor with no lift.

Cancellation Policy

Bookings are non-refundable, but if you do find are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Up to 10 days before the event, you may reschedule your booking, subject to availability. After this time, no refund or cancellation is possible, but you are welcome to pass your booking on to a friend - just let us know. If you do reschedule your booking, this can only be done once in any six month period; subsequent rebookings will need to be paid for again. Please note, some workshops may not be repeated. No refunds or transfers will be given for no-shows.
