PRINTMAKING: Block prints for Christmas

SUNDAY 16th NOVEMBER 10am to 4pm £75 Join us for a festive workshop led by tutor, printmaker, and textile designer Anne Davison. This session will involve block printing on paper, during which you will design and produce your own block-printed Christmas cards, wrapping paper and paper decorations. What you can expect: You will plan and carve your lino design, which will be used to create your cards, and a pattern repeat for your wrapping paper. Various colour combinations and methods for repeating patterns can be explored on paper prior to the final prints. Experimentation is encouraged. What you'll take away: • Your own unique set of Christmas cards • A length of your own designed and printed wrapping paper • A set of paper decorations for your home or to gift • Knowledge of linocut and repeat printing, the inks and methods involved. Plus, the satisfaction and enjoyment of a day spent relaxing and creating, before the festive season begins! What to bring: • You may like to bring a packed lunch. • Please also bring an apron or wear old clothes. • All other materials included. Suitable for: Everyone! You may have some experience of linocut and enjoy the opportunity to spend the day printing, or this may be your first printmaking. Your tutor: Anne Davison is a well established textile design artist, with a worldwide spread of clients and collectors. She is also an experienced tutor. Creative Courses is a new multi-use creative space where you'll meet new people, learn new skills, and be playful and creative in a relaxed, friendly environment. Tea and coffee, quality teaching, and materials are provided... you just turn up and enjoy your day. There is plenty of parking and the venue is 15 minutes walk from Faversham train station. The workshop is on the first floor, with no lift.
