LEARN COLOUR LINOCUT IN A WEEKEND

COLOUR LINOCUT WEEKEND MASTERCLASS
Master the art of two-colour linocut prints, with this weekend workshop run by expert printmaker Nick Morley. Over two days, you will learn how to effectively plan, carve and print a two-colour linocut design, from the basics of cutting a block, through to effective and accurate colour registration.
Colour Linocut
Linocut is a very satisfying and accessible printmaking technique. Although the basics of linocut are easy to learn, there are several things the printmaker needs to know in order to produce successful and impressive prints, especially in colour.
Join Nick on this weekend course for a sound grounding in how to plan, prepare and print a two-colour design.
You will learn how to:
• Plan your image and transfer it to the lino block
• Safely use a range of cutting tools to create a range of marks
• Ink the block correctly
• Print with a printing press, but also by hand so you can continue at home
• Plan a multiblock design and begin to work in layers
• Colour mixing and colour blends
• Accurate colour registration
What you’ll take away:
By the end of the workshop you will have produced a small edition of your two colour print (A5 size). You will also have the skills and knowledge to continue making striking, colourful prints at home, or in your studio.
This workshop is suitable for beginners, and those with some previous experience who wish to add colour layering and registration to their skillset.
